- Sunday, November 2, 3 p.m., Grace UCC, 25 E. 2nd St., Frederick, All-Verdi Concert by the Maryland Concert Opera. Artists include sopranos Marie Lester Loy and Sara Stewart, mezzo soprano Jenni Bank, tenor Adam Caughey, bass-baritone Eunseo Koo, and the Choral Arts Society of Frederick, under the direction of Lynn Staininger. Tickets required (available in advance from Noel Lester or at the door). $20 general admission, $10 seniors (65 and older) and students. $1 discount for members of the Frederick Arts Council.
- Sunday, November 9, 4 p.m., Calvary United Methodist Church, downtown Frederick. Pianist Shaun Tirell plays a dedicatory concert on the church’s new Steinway ‘D’ grand piano. Program includes works by Scarlatti, Gershwin, Chopin, and Liszt. Free admission.

- Sunday, January 18, 3 p.m., FCC, BSO Chamber Series. The Atlantic String Quartet, comprised of BSO string players, performs repertoire that revolutionized the quartet sound, including Beethoven’s String Quartet, Op. 130, and Dvorak’s “American” String Quartet. Admission $20, at the door.
- Sunday, January 25, 3 p.m., Hood College, Brodbeck Music Hall, the annual Randall Family Chamber Music Concert, featuring The Calder Quartet. Free admission.
- February, 2009
- Sunday, February 1, 3 p.m., Hood College Coffman Chapel, Recital by Dr. Wayne L. Wold, Associate Professor of Music. Works for harpsichord and organ by Clerembault, Bach (recently discovered work), Handel, Harbach, Mendelssohn, and Wold. Free admission. No tickets required.
- Sunday, February 22, 3 p.m., FCC, The Azimuth Quartet. FCC Artist/Faculty cellist Adam Gonzalez, violist Alice Tung, and violinist James Tung are joined by violinist Nicholas Currie to perform a Beethoven string quartet and Joaquin Turina’s “A Bullfighter’s Prayer”. FCC Artist/Faculty John Wickelgren also appears with the group for Dvorak’s epic 2nd Piano Quintet. No admission charge.

- Sunday, March 1, 3 p.m., FCC, BSO Chamber Series. “Winds, Strings and Other Things.” An eclectic blend of chamber music hits for winds, strings and piano, featuring seven BSO players and a guest pianist in performances of music by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Jean Francaix. Admission $20 at the door.
- Saturday, March 7, 8 p.m., FCC, Kussmaul Theater, The Frederick Symphony Orchestra presents its Young Artist Showcase.
- Tuesday, March 10, 8 p.m., FCC, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Danail Rachev and principal trumpet player Andrew Balio perform Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto. The program also includes Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and Schubert’s “Tragic” Symphony No. 4. General Admission $30, at the door or online; $10 students; FCC students and staff free with ID.

- Friday, April 3, 8 p.m., FCC, Pianist Robert Durso in Concert. World-class pianist and piano technique specialist Robert Durso opens FCC’s 5th annual Durso/Golandsky Piano Technique and Pedagogy Workshop with a chamber recital. He is joined by Philadelphia Orchestra first violinist Jason De Pue in a program of romantic repertoire, featuring Beethoven’s famous Spring Sonata and Brahms’s Sonata in G. Durso performs on FCC’s Bösendorfer Imperial Grand. No admission charge. There will be also be a piano masterclass by Mr. Durso, from 1-2:30, featuring advanced pianists. Free admission.
