  • Thursday, July 8, 8 p.m., Hood College Hodson Theater/Rosenstock Auditorium, “Silverman Young Artists.” This year’s artists are violinist Joanna Kaczorawska and pianist Pablo Lavandera, winners of the chamber music division of the 2009 Liszt Garrison International Competition.
  • Thursday, July 15, 8 p.m., Hood College Hodson Theater/Rosenstock Auditorium, “French Fireworks.” A celebration of Bastille Day, one day late, with virtuoso French music performed by pianist Noel Lester, violinist RoseAnn Markow Lester, flutist Karen Johnson, and lyric coloratura soprano, Marie Lester Loy.
  • Thursday, July 22, 8 p.m., Hood College Hodson Theater/Rosenstock Auditorium, “All-Schumann.” Our annual James Etchison Memorial Concert is a celebration of the bicentennial of Schumann’s birth. Featured works include the “Fantasy Pieces” for cello and piano, the “Marchenbilder” for viola and piano, a group of Lieder, and Schumann’s great piano quintet in E-flat. Guest artists include Jose Cueto, violin, Noah Chaves, viola, and Jeffrey Tarr, bass.
  • Thursday, July 29, 8 p.m., Hood College Hodson Theater/Rosenstock Auditorium, “Appalachian Wind Quintet.” This popular group makes its 8th appearance on our summer series and will perform Theodore Blumer’s Sextet for piano and winds with Noel Lester.
